Swordfish 2010
- Celebrating the European Martial Arts
Swordfish is the first annual event in Sweden for historical European martial arts. In 2006 it was held in Malmö, but ever since then the event has taken place every year in Gothenburg, on the Swedish west coast. 2010 will be no different, the event is held 5 - 7 November and, as usual, is hosted by Gothenburg Historical Fencing School, the GHFS.
Swordfish is unique in many ways. It has become known as a tough event, with intense training and a lot of different classes to attend. And although that is true for many events, Swordfish hosts instructors and classes that you will not find anywhere else as well as some more well-known faces. It is uniquely Scandinavian as well as European.
The event draws fencers, boxers, wrestlers and other martial artists from around the world during a time of year when there are few other events around. It is a great opportunity to come together, meet friends and train hard.
Swordfish 2010 will,as always, feature a lot of social events. We have lecture halls, the always popular pub/cafeteria and a designated hall for free sparring. Everything is gathered in the same facilities and you will not have to travel around to go to classes or to get some sleep. Restaurants are in close proximity to the event.
So join in on the fun and come to Gothenburg for a couple of days of inspiration, hard work and camaraderie.
You won't be alone.
Welcome!
